     Tony Thomas began his Law Enforcement career in 1992 with a sheriff’s department in middle Tennessee.  He served in nearly every capacity during his tenure with that department.  In 2001, the TN Dept of Safety employed Tony as the states lead Defensive Tactics & Physical Fitness Instructor at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy, where he is presently employed.
 
     Tony completed his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN.  Tony is a graduate of the Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command Class #186.  Tony has practiced Isshinryu Karate most of his life.
 
     He has designed and implemented dozens of law enforcement related classes that have Tennessee’s P.O.S.T. approval.  Tony has had the opportunity to train numerous local & state SWAT teams from across the nation in CQB techniques specific to operators.

     Tony was first certified in SSGT in 2002 and is now a member of the SSGT Advisory Board.
