Level One Instructor Certification
Valid for three years provided the officer teaches eight (8) hours per year.
Length of course: 40 hours

Level One Instructor Re-certification
Valid for three years provided the officer teaches eight (8) hours per year.
Length of course: 24 hours 
Cost per officer: $275.00
Level One Instructor Certification required.

Level Two Instructor Certification
Valid for three years provided the officer teaches four (4) hours per year.
Length of course: 24 hours 
Cost per officer: $275.00
Level one instructor certification required. This course adds one year to the officer’s Level One Certification as a result of the Level One Review.

Level Two Instructor Re-certification
Valid for three years provided the officer teaches four (4) hours per year.
Length of course: 16 hours 
Cost per officer: $150.00
Level One Instructor Certification and level Two Instructor Certification required.

Level One Student Certification
Valid for one year.
Length of course:
From one to 16 hours depending on the number of Categories covered- Seven Categories possible. A certified instructor may certify a student in specific Categories and exclude other Categories. Only students who complete and pass all seven Categories of the level one program within a 90-day period are eligible to purchase certificates from SSGT. It is not necessary for a student to possess a certificate to be Certified with SSGT. If SSGT receives the proper paperwork on the student, the student is certified.

Level One Student Re-certification
Valid for one year.
Length of course:
One half of the original certification. Re-certification length for the entire 16 hour course is 8 hours. A certified instructor may certify a student in specific categories and exclude other categories.

Level Two Student Certification
Valid for one year.
Length of course:
From one to 8 hours depending on the number of categories covered- Eight categories possible. A certified Instructor may certify a student in specific Categories and exclude other Categories. Only students who complete and pass all eight Categories of the level two program within a 90-day period are eligible to purchase certificates from SSGT. It is not necessary for a student to possess a certificate to be Certified with SSGT. If SSGT receives the proper paperwork on the student, the student is certified.

Level Two Student Re-certification
Valid for one year.
Length of course:
One half of the original certification. Re-certification length for the entire 8 hour course is 4 hours. A certified instructor may certify a student in specific categories and exclude other categories.

Grace period - There is a (30) thirty-day grace period on all re-certification classes. During this grace period, the Instructor in question must not instruct or teach any SSGT classes or courses. After this thirty-day period the officer must attend the entire course in question.

Level One Instructors - May certify officers in any part of the Sixteen (16) Hour Level One Course only.

Level Two Instructors - May certify officers in any part of the sixteen (16) hour level one course and/or any part of the eight (8) hour Level Two Courses only.

Fees - Instructors may not charge their department for teaching SSGT Student Courses. With the approval of their own Departments, Instructors may charge departments, other than their own, for Student Courses. Instructors may charge a maximum of $75.00 per officer for any Student Course (all categories). If less than all Categories are to be taught, the Instructor may charge no more than $10.00 per officer per Category. SSGT charges a processing fee of $10.00 per officer Certified OUTSIDE of your own department, (no processing fee for officers within Instructor’s Department) if those officers desire certification from SSGT. The processing fee covers one to all Categories of a particular level. For two levels, two processing fees are required. Instructor Trainers may not accept payments for Instructor Level Courses. Payments for Instructor Level Courses must be sent to Triad M.A. 1708 Talley Ho Street, Cullman, AL 35055.

Level One Instructor Trainers - May certify officers in any part of the sixteen (16) hour Level One Student Course, any part of the eight (8) hour Level Two Student Course, and may conduct forty (40) hour Level One Instructor Certification Schools.

Level Two Instructor Trainers - May certify officers in any part of the sixteen (16) hour Level One Student Course, any part of the eight (8) hour Level Two Student Course, and may conduct forty (40) hour Level One Instructor and twenty-four (24) hour Level Two Instructor Certification Schools.
